The LAPD is looking for a ring of jewelry thieves

Multiple cities in California were hit in a string of commercial burglaries, including Nordstrom Rack and Louis Vuitton stores. The Los Angeles Police Department said that suspected burglars may be responsible for up to a dozen burglaries from Monday through Friday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Authorities reported that the burglaries took place at two Nordstrom Rack stores and Louis Vuitton at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles, and at places such as the White House Wine Co. and ABC Milk Bar in Century City, among others.

Investigators are still determining if any of the burglaries are connected, but have declined to say if they have arrested any suspects. According to authorities, the thieves smashed the glass fronts of the stores with hammers before stealing merchandise. Surveillance footage showed them carrying gold ornaments out of the shops.

“The suspects appear to have arrived at the location as early as 9 a.m. Tuesday and opened several front doors in order to enter the structure,” said a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman. He did not speculate on the age of the suspects or on whether they are connected to any other burglaries.
