‘King Richard’, the second part of FIFA’s series profiling the unique power players, follows tennis brothers Bob and Mike Bryan of the Bryan Brothers. The two provide an insight into the secret to their success; combined, they hold 25 Grand Slam doubles titles.
They have won the last 14 Grand Slams alongside American John Isner. When they first teamed up in 2000, it was a team called Magic and Circumstance. They have since added a bit of spice with the addition of Isner.
Their title runs is similar to that of the Williams sisters, as in 2007, they won eight straight Australian Open men’s doubles finals. Bob and Mike won the French Open in 2016. They have won 54 career doubles titles and their current ATP career doubles rankings sit at number one. Bob also has a 2016 US Open mixed doubles title to his name.
The duo’s style of tennis requires them to adapt the ball into a variety of releases, but they have the innate ability to control their movements to the body. Speaking to CNN Style, Bob shares his secret to keeping his partners at a low level of noise.
